Ileana Rodriguez is the Principal at I Design Access, LLC, and an international architectural design consultant for major infrastructure projects focusing on inclusive design. Ileana is a Texas Registered Accessibility Specialist (RAS) (License #1441). Her experience comes from working for clients such as the International Paralympic Committee, national sports organizations, and various architecture firms. Ileana has been involved as a consultant to oversee different sizes of projects from Olympic/Paralympic Stadiums and airports, to smaller sports facilities, hotels, medical facilities, commercial buildings, civil projects, and temporary infrastructure. The projects have taken place locally in the US, and in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Ileana Rodriguez is a Paralympic swimmer and former member of the USA Team for the London 2012 Games. She was Chef de Mission for the Refugee Paralympic Team for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Ileana was a governing board member of the Americas Paralympic Committee, as the Athlete Representative for the region, from 2015 to 2023.
Ileana has a special interest in serving in her community as she is a former Commissioner for the Houston Planning and Houston Airport Commissions.
She has extensive experience as a keynote speaker in several conferences, universities, and interviews, on different media outlets, on issues related to inclusion and architecture.
Ileana Laucirica is a fundamental part of I Design Access since she brings along experience in terms of engineering and design. She has diverse experience in different sectors, such as hospitality, education, and urban projects.
She has worked with teams of architects and designers, always with a critical eye also for accessibility. Ileana Laucirica’s personal experience brought her close to this topic, understanding some of the principles and applying them to design and the everyday work she does.
Ileana Laucirica joined the I Design Access, LLC team in 2020; she supports all projects trough client relationships and everyday office operations.
The integration of Accessibility and Design should not be seen as an unsolvable problem but rather as an opportunity to produce better environments.
