The United states Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs is home to sport facilities and support services for Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American and Parapan American sports. The Center is able to provide housing, dining, training facilities, recreational facilities and other services for more than 500 athletes and coaches at one time on the complex.
The Center underwent major improvements where Ileana Rodriguez had the opportunity to work closely with the architects and the USOPC to enhance the center and make it inclusive for Olympic and Paralympic athletes. One of Ileana’s contribution was at the new Gymnasium where the athlete experience is equal regardless of disabilities. The purpose was to allow athletes to perform are their best potential while living in a fully accessible environment.
